Providing a Positive Grooming Experience

At Furry Friends, we believe pets have the right to a positive grooming experience. We strive to provide that by implementing policies that target safety and comfort for both your pet and our staff members.

Cancellations

We work one-on-one with your pet so it’s important we have at least 24 hours notice for appointment cancellations. This allows us enough time to fill the spot we reserved for your fur baby. Short notice (under 24 hours) and no shows will have a $25 re-booking fee. Recurring short notice cancellations will be charged 50% of their grooming appointment as a rebooking fee. The rebooking fee will need to be paid before we reschedule your appointment.

Aggressive and biting pets

We understand biting can happen. For the safety of our staff and your pet, please let us know if your pet has been aggressive towards people or other animals. We will try our best to accommodate them which may include putting a muzzle on. We reserve the right to stop any groom where we feel your pet or the groomer is unsafe. Full grooming fee may still apply.

Pricing

Most of our quotes are based on the size of the animal. Instances where there is an additional amount of work involved (ie, matted fur, aggressive behaviour), additional fees may apply. Prices are subject to change without notice. Please contact us to confirm price.

Matting

Matted coats need more care and attention. If it’s manageable and not stressful on the pet, we will de-matt at an additional fee. If it’s too severe we may offer to shave it or refuse the grooming job. If you know your pet is matted, it’s best to consult with us beforehand.

Grooming Packages

Our grooming packages feature bundled services at a discounted rate. We don’t offer refunds or pricing for individual services based on the grooming package rate.

Satisfaction

If there is anything you’re unhappy with, please contact us within 24 hours. We will make every reasonable effort to make it right.

Comfort Grooms

For pets that may have a difficult time being groomed (ie, senior dogs and puppies), we do what’s called a comfort groom. We work around your pet in a way to keep them comfortable. This may mean the groom may not be as visually appealing as expected.

Drop-off and Pick-up

We advise to arrive as close to your drop-off time as possible. We schedule our appointments one-on-one and try our best not to have multiple animals in the salon at once. The only exception is if they are from the same family. This helps us keep a low stress environment for your pet.

For pick-up, please wait for us to call to let you know we are finished. Early arrivals can cause the pet to become excited knowing you are there. This makes it hard for us to finish grooming.

For this same reason, we don’t advise owners to stay while we are grooming. For extreme circumstances such as a medical condition where the owner may be needed to stay, we will assess on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out to us beforehand so we can discuss.

Fleas

If you know your pet has fleas, please don’t bring them in until they are treated. If we find fleas on your pet, we will have to provide a flea treatment. This will carry an additional cost for the treatment and extra cleaning involved.
